Now that the second generation of Core processors have received the official nod from Intel in Malaysia, more and more system based on the new processors have begun to appear on the market. Toshiba is no exception to the trend as well since they have recently unveiled three new Sandy Bridge-based laptops that are going to make their way into our market sometime next month.
One of them is the Satellite L700 series laptops which are going to be available in three different flavours: the 14-inch L740 and L745; together with the 15-inch L755. These laptops come together with either a 2.10GHz Intel Core i3-2310M or 2.30GHz Intel Core i5-2410M processors; with the exception of L740 which runs on the previous generation 2.53GHz Intel Core i3-380M.
In addition to the L740, the Toshiba Satellite laptop series also receive another new Sandy Bridge-based laptop that is called the E300. Powered by the Intel Core i5-2410M processor, the 14-inch lightweight and thin laptop featured the next-generation Intel Wireless Display for users to enjoy media contents on HDTV without using any cables in full 1080p resolution.
The Toshiba Portege series also receives the Sandy Bridge treatment in the form of the 13.3-inch Portege R830. Apart from having a slim and lightweight design, the R830 is equipped with ‘Air Cooling’ system - co-developed by Intel and Toshiba - that promises efficient heat dissipation while keeping the noise at a minimum level. Certain areas of the laptop are also strengthen with honeycomb structure in order to make it more durable. The new Portege R830 is available together with either a second generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.
As interesting as these laptops might look, it is unfortunate that Toshiba is unable to provide the local pricing for them for the time being.
